Ronald Hawkins, Pianist
East Haven, CT
This talented concert pianist was going to be performing at Carnegie hall, and needed a poster designed for the event. It would hang in Carnegie hall, and he would also give out copies to people and have them available at other concerts before the March 2006. Desiring to support local designers, he approached us with the project.
Befitting his personality and approach to classical music performance, he wanted some fun hand drawings of the composers whose works he would be performing, and had the idea to put crayon-type scribbles behind them. He also desired to include a timeline to show the progression of music styles through history.
After a sketching several ideas, we settled on this one. Ronald preferred the purple color for the background, which is pleasantly different from most graphic design in general.
He supplied us with his headshot, and designer Ryan sketched the composers' portraits.
Thanks for a job well done. I wish you continued success!"
