During my third semester at SCSU I took 3-D Design, which was an introduction to sculpting concepts and techniques. I found I really enjoyed subtractive sculpting (carving), when I carved Pensive Man.

	Orbitent [October 2002 / Poster Board, Newsprint, and Bamboo. 14" x 14" x 14" ] Here are eight views of a mid-semester project. I thought it had a decidedly Oriental feel to it. The "floating" cube is suspended by nylon thread.
	Pixelated Hand [Fall 2002 / Styrofoam cubes and Pins ] This was a fun project. Made out of styrofoam pieces, the hand has a 1/4 inch resolution. It is actual size, modeled after my right hand.
	Pensive Man [December 2002 / Plaster Carving. 6" x 6" x 9" ] I thoroughly enjoyed carving a plaster block into the shape of a man on a rock.
