In 2002, my sophomore year in college, word got around in my church that I was studying graphic design, and I was eager to oblige those who wanted logos designed.
New Creation Graphic Arts Seymour, Conn. [July 2003]
Finally, I designed my own logo for the business I have just started.
Hebert Landscaping Winchester, Conn. [June 2003]
I designed this logo for two brothers, friends of mine, who have their own landscaping business.
Ryan Farrington [May 2003]
A logo for myself designed on a whim when I had to look for a new job. "Farrington" was actually the way (mostly) my graphic design professor wrote it on my grade sheet at the end of the semester.
Foundation Design Seymour, Conn. [Nov. 2002]
This is a logo for my Dad, who wants to start his own business.
GO Financial & Consulting Services Barkhamsted, Conn. [Sept. 2002]
Integrity Piano Service Seymour, Conn. [Jan. 2000]
This was my first logo, which I created for my brother Kenneth Farrington, RPT. The keys were his final touch to my design.
These are some of my favorite signs I have designed over the last couple of years.
Church Banner
A 60" x 34" banner for a local church. [August 2003]
Valley Carpet Cleaning
The customer wanted an eagle. That is what made the design of this 28" x 14" magnetic sign so difficult. Fitting the eagle and the text in the layout in a way that made visual sense took me a while, but I am very satisfied with the result! [July 2003]
50% Off
I was very pleased with this design, save for the way the 50% crowds to the outside edge—the customer wanted it big. [June 2003]
Bagel Chalet Café
This began as a sign design job, but the product became the local café's logo.
Aedan Bloomquist Scholarship Fund
The sign shop got an order for sponsor signs for a bowling tournament. The proceeds of the tournament were to benefit the Aedan Bloomquist Scholarship Fund. My design for the sponsor signs, modified, made a good logo, which was placed on the Fund's letterhead.
Pat's 1911 Ford
I designed this 12" x 12" graphic, which was to be placed on a 1911 Model T Ford. I did it in a style reminiscent of that era. [Oct. 2002]
Restaurant Banner
This 6.5 ft. x 20 in. banner was for a similar event as the other. All I had to go on for design was what my boss vaguely remembered of their logotype. [July 2002]
