ARIC SCHRÖDER (born in 2116 in Germany)
Aric Schröder
Aric was a very conscientious and fair man. He had loving parents who had instilled in him a love for God, a servant's attitude toward men, a good work ethic, and a deep patriotism. When He was twenty-five, he married Ruth Wieland, the daughter of Herr Schröder's business partner. Aric inherited his father's mine after he had died in an accident in the mine in 2143. Due to economic recession in 2145, Aric decided to move the mine to the planet Cassius in the Proxima Centauri system. He remained the owner and CEO of the company until 2184 at the age of sixty-eight, when he accepted the presidency of Cassius Prime, the colony on the planet.

WARNER BROOKS
Warner Brooks
Born Werner Bach in Germany in 2113, Warner was a good friend of Aric while they were growing up. When he was eighteen years old, he went to the United States to join the USSF (United States Space Force) because the U.S. had the best space-military training. There he Americanized his name to Warner Brooks. He kept in contact with Aric all while he was in the military. By 2144 He rose the rank of Colonel. The next year, Aric told him about his plans to move the mine offworld, and Warner helped to pull some strings in the government to get Aric's move sponsored. Warner then resigned his position in the USSF and joined his friend in the preparations of moving to Cassius. During the hostilities with Blacktron from 2178 to 2184, Warner served as the military leader of ArTron. when Aric Schröder became President of Cassius Prime, he chose Warner Brooks to be his Secretary of Defense.

ROSS SHEPARD
Ross Shepard
Shepard, a native of Pennsylvania, USA, was born in 2115. After going through college, he took an eight year course in colony building and earned a degree. In 2146, he got a job in the UESA and was assigned to take part in the Schröder Mining move, and to build the colony on Cassius. Ross got to know Aric Schröder and Warner Brooks well, and became attached to the other people of CMC. In 2157, after he had set up the preliminary housing for the families of the mine workers and got the colony going, his UESA-assigned commitment to the project expired. But Ross decided to stay and continue to help the colony and his friends.

Dr. BENJAMIN CORWOOD
Dr. Benjamin Corwood
Dr. Corwood was one of the scientists whom the UESA sent along with Aric to Cassius. He holds a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, and supervises ArTech, the team producing the fighters of ArTron (the space force). During the hostilities with Blacktron, Aric consulted Ben, telling him the requirements of new fighters, and Ben and his team did their best to produce them.

NIGEL HALLOWAY
Nigel Halloway at his desk
Nigel was born in the year 2131 in Futuria (a city started by M:tron and Futuron on a planet in the Alpha Centauri B system). He went to college in the United States to major in metallurgy and mining. After he graduated in 2153, he found employment with Cassius Mining Company. There he displayed good leadership skills and was promoted to vice-president of the company. While Aric Schröder was dealing with the Blacktron threat, almost all the responsibilites of managing the mine fell to Nigel. And once Aric accepted presidency of Cassius Prime, Nigel, at 53, took Aric's place as owner and CEO of Cassius Mining Company.

"What would happen to YOU if you died today?"
CALLEN DEVLIN & GERMAIN CONNERS

Callen grew up in Columbia Outpost, the first city on Mars. As a child of divorced parents, he devleoped a tough image to defend himself from others who picked on him. This hardened personality drove him to join the military, where he became a self-reliant, hotshot pilot in the USSF. He didn't have many friends, but there was one who stuck with him—Germain Conners. Germain became a Christian while in boot camp with Callen. He had often talked to Callen about God, but his friend wasn't interested.

Germain Conners (DAT available; includes the glasses!) Devlin and Conners joined the ArTron Space Force in 2176. While Callen took risks in the Space force and got a few demerits, Germain always encouraged him to stick to orders and be more careful. In 2178, just before a scouting mission against Blacktron, Germain remarked that he would be ready to die at any time. He asked Callen how he felt about death.

Two hours later during the mission, four Blacktron fighters appeared almost out of nowhere, and destroyed Germain's fighter. Callen managed to fight his way out of the ambush and get back to the base on Brutus, his friend's question from two hours ago ringing in his ears: "What would happen to you if you died today?"

Sobered by the death of his friend, Callen Devlin sought out the Chaplain, Dwight Garvin, who introduced him to "a Friend who sticks closer than a brother."

From then on, he was more cautious on missions and watched over the men in his flight. Though offered the honor of high rank, he declined promotions, wishing to remain at Lieutenant where he could be faithful in little things, watching out for the safety of the few men in his command.
