Though produced in 2175, a year later than the Hf-2, the Hf-8 was developed alongside the Crescent, and proved to be more maneuverable in an atmosphere. At this time, the ArTron space force now had four different fighters to defend from the Blacktron threat. ArTron was hoping to get enough firepower to ward off any attacks by Blacktron, but they knew these few fighters would not be enough. Fortunately, the expected attack didn't come until 2178.
